Fruit Pizza Recipe

Fruit pizza can be a delicious dessert option and is especially good for a large group. Although it has pizza in the name, it is not anything like the savory pizzas we all know and love. Fruit pizzas are dessert pizzas that have fruit on top of some sort of sweet sauce and a crust.

The sauce can be anything creamy and sweet. Sweet cream cheese sauce is a good option. Chocolate sauce is another delightful sauce for this pizza. An orange sauce made from orange and lemon juices, sugar, water and cornstarch would be great in combination with certain fruits or crusts. The options are limitless to how you make your creation. Some people even drizzle glazes or honey on top of the whole pizza.

For the dough, you can use cookie dough. You also could make it from brownie dough, pie crust dough, or even tortilla! What you want to make sure is that the crust is not too crumbly because it will be difficult to cut and pick up then.

Types of fruit that work really well on a fruit pizza are ones that are not too juicy or have seeds. Here are some good options for you: kiwis, banana slices, grapes cut in half, sliced strawberries, cherries (with the pits taken out and sliced in half), well-drained pineapple slices, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, mandarin orange sections, and even melon!

You’re probably dying to try out a fruit pizza of your own so check out our recipe below.

Fruit Pizza Recipe
Ingredients
1 package of cookie dough
1 (8 ounce) container of cream cheese
1/3 cup sugar
½ teaspoon extract – you can use either vanilla, almond, coconut, lemon, orange, etc.
Fresh fruit of your choosing

Cooking Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Lay out the cookie dough and cut it into slices. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown. Remove it from the oven and let cool.

Prep the sauce by whipping the cream cheese, sugar, and extract of your choosing. Once the dough is cool enough, spread the sauce on top of it and then put the fruit on top of that. The only thing about fruit pizza is that it doesn’t last so it’s best to make when you’re sure you won’t have any leftovers.

The best part of fruit pizza is that you can have a lot of fun with the presentation and decoration of the pizza. A lot of fruit pizzas are a series of circles of fruit. But that doesn’t mean you can’t get daring to celebrate different holidays or events with fruit pizzas. You could create an American flag with banana slices, blueberries, and red grapes, strawberries, or raspberries for the Fourth of July. You could do a fruit pizza in the shape of a heart for Valentine’s day with different red-colored fruit. Another cute idea is to make a beach ball with different fruit colors on it.

Fruit pizzas are a great, healthy dessert that doesn’t take long to make and will make you look like a star hostess. Try one out at your next big event!
