Summer time is pickle time! Today we want to show you how to make “No Canning pickled cucumbers”. If you can get gherkins or pickle cucumbers and if you like home made pickles, this recipe will show you how to make the best pickles ever! This is a proven German recipe and you maybe know that the German pickles are known for their taste. They are crunchy and don’t contain preservatives, corn syrup, high fructose syrup or artificial colors. With the home made pickles you can be sure that you have a healthy dish!

No Canning Pickled Cucumbers

Ingredients No Canning Pickled Cucumbers

11 lb or 5 kg gherkins (cucumbers for pickling)
3 medium onions
1 cup horseradish (200 g )
some garlic cloves (optional)
3 liter water
3/4 liter vinegar, 10%
1 1/4 cup sugar (300 g)
1/2 cup salt (150 g)
1 bunch dill and if possible 1 bundle summer savory
2 tbsp black pepper corns
2-3 tbsp mustard seeds
